Instructions
- Begin by peeling, coring, and slicing your apples for uniform cooking.
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry.
- Transfer the rolled-out pastry to a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Layer the apple mixture onto the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Fold the edges of the pastry over the apple filling, crimping as necessary.
- Brush the folded crust with the beaten egg and dot the top with pieces of butter.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden.
