Description
A rich and decadent pecan pie with a hint of bourbon for warmth and complexity. Toasted pecans in a silky custard make this bourbon pecan pie a holiday showstopper. This homemade bourbon pecan pie recipe is easy to follow.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 2 cups pecan halves, toasted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the unbaked pie crust on a baking sheet.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Stir in the bourbon until fully incorporated. This is where your bourbon pecan pie gets its distinctive flavor.
- Arrange the toasted pecan halves evenly in the bottom of the pie crust.
- Pour the bourbon pecan pie filling over the pecans.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. The center may still be slightly jiggly.
- Let the bourbon pecan pie cool completely on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before serving. This allows the bourbon pecan pie filling to set properly.
Notes
- To toast pecans, spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until fragrant.
- For a richer bourbon flavor, you can use a higher proof bourbon.
- This easy bourbon pecan pie can be made a day in advance.
