- 1 lb ground beef
- 5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme (optional)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onions until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and milk.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
- Top with half of the beef mixture and half of the soup mixture.
- Sprinkle one cup of cheddar cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers with remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and cheese.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
