Description
This soul-warming Creamy Farmhouse Chicken & Noodles transforms humble ingredients into crockpot magic that tastes like it came straight from grandma’s kitchen.
Ingredients
Scale
- 24 ounces frozen egg noodles
- 2 cans (14.7 oz each) of cream of chicken soup (or one can chicken and one can cream of celery for variety)
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter, cut into pieces
- 32 oz of chicken broth (extra may be needed to thin if too thick)
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon or chicken-flavored paste, optional for richer flavor
- 6 small or 4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: mixed vegetables and parsley
Instructions
- Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of your crockpot, and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Add the frozen egg noodles on top of the chicken, distributing them evenly throughout the pot.
- Scatter the butter pieces across the top of the noodles so they’ll melt evenly throughout the dish as it cooks.
- Pour in the chicken broth and spoon the cream of chicken soup over everything. If using the bouillon or chicken paste, add it now.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Shred the chicken directly in the crockpot about 30 minutes before serving, then stir everything together to combine.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve hot in deep bowls, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Extra chicken broth may be needed to achieve desired consistency.
- You can add mixed vegetables for added nutrition.
