Description
A luxurious, tender, garlic-herb crusted Christmas prime rib roast slow-roasted to perfection and finished with a golden crust. A stunning holiday centerpiece with rich au jus.

- 4–6 lb bone-in prime rib roast
- 4 tbsp butter (softened)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary (chopped)
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme (chopped)
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 1.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Let prime rib sit at room temperature for 1 hour.
- Mix butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper, and olive oil into a paste.
- Rub garlic-herb mixture all over the roast.
- Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Place roast in pan.
- Roast for 2.5–3.5 hours until internal temperature reaches desired doneness.
- Remove and rest for 20–30 minutes under foil.
- Increase oven to 500°F (260°C). Sear roast for 8–10 minutes until crust forms.
- Simmer drippings with broth and Worcestershire to make au jus.
- Slice roast and serve with warm au jus.
