  • Unsalted butter (thinly sliced): 2 tablespoons

  • Warm water (110°F, divided): 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons
  • Egg yolk (lightly beaten): 1
  • All-purpose flour: 1 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons
  • Unsalted butter (melted, divided): 1/2 cup
  • Shredded mozzarella: 8 ounces
  • Grated parmesan cheese: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Dried oregano: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Marinara sauce: for dipping

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in 2 tablespoons of warm water. Let sit until foamy, about 5–10 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture with remaining warm water, sugar, salt, butter slices, egg yolk, and flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
