- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Add the blanched green beans, soy sauce, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper to the skillet. Toss to coat the beans evenly and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the beans are tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve the Crack Green Beans hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
