Description
Cranberry Brie Puff bites deliver festive flair creamy Brie in flaky pastry shells for partyworthy bites and holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 8 ounces Brie cheese, rind removed
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce or cranberry relish
- 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1–2 tablespoons granulated sugar or brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1 large egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Thaw the puff pastry sheets completely, then unfold them on a lightly floured surface. If the sheet resists rolling, allow a few minutes to relax.
- In a bowl, combine the Brie (rind removed if you prefer), cranberry sauce, cream cheese (if using), sugar, cinnamon, and orange zest. Mix until you have a thick, spreadable filling.
- Spread the filling evenly over one sheet of puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Roll the sheet tightly away from you, forming a log. If the log is soft, wrap it in plastic wrap and chill for 10–15 minutes.
- Repeat with the second puff pastry sheet to form a second log with the same filling.
- Slice each log into 1/2- to 3/4-inch thick spirals and place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them to allow puffing.
- Brush the tops with egg wash for a glossy finish.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until edges are golden and centers puff with a delicate crust crackle. Rotate if your oven runs hot.
- Cool 5–10 minutes on the sheet, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.
- Transfer to a serving platter or slice again for neater presentation. Serve warm with herbs for a festive touch.
- Optional flavor tweaks: add more cinnamon, crushed pink peppercorns, or adjust fillings with jam and pomegranate molasses for variation.
