Description
Delicious homemade 40 minute hamburger buns that are fluffy, slightly sweet, and topped with sesame seeds, perfect for your burgers.
Ingredients

- 1 packet Active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup Warm water
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 large Egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 3 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 large Egg yolk (For egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon Water (For egg wash)
- 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds (For topping)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, add the active dry yeast and warm water. Mix in the vegetable oil and sugar, then let it stand for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- After 5 minutes, gently whisk in the beaten egg.
- Gradually add salt and flour, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Using a dough hook, knead the mixture for 3-5 minutes in a mixer, or by hand on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and arrange the dough balls on a greased or lined baking sheet.
- Cover the formed buns with a kitchen towel and let them rest for 10 minutes.
- Brush the tops with an egg wash made of egg yolk and water, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
- Substitute all-purpose flour with whole wheat for healthier buns.
