Description

Delicious homemade 40 minute hamburger buns that are fluffy, slightly sweet, and topped with sesame seeds, perfect for your burgers.


Ingredients

  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup Warm water
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 large Egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 large Egg yolk (For egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon Water (For egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds (For topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add the active dry yeast and warm water. Mix in the vegetable oil and sugar, then let it stand for 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. After 5 minutes, gently whisk in the beaten egg.
  3. Gradually add salt and flour, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  4. Using a dough hook, knead the mixture for 3-5 minutes in a mixer, or by hand on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
  6. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and arrange the dough balls on a greased or lined baking sheet.
  7. Cover the formed buns with a kitchen towel and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  8. Brush the tops with an egg wash made of egg yolk and water, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  9. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
