  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix (0.87 oz)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 bag (12 oz) wide egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Chop the onion finely and measure out the other ingredients.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until the meat is no longer pink.
  3. Once the meat is browned, stir in the chopped onion and sauté for another 3-5 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
  4. Add in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper, mixing well to ensure every piece of meat is coated.
  5. Sprinkle the brown gravy mix over the cooked beef and onion. Slowly pour in 1 cup of cold water while stirring to prevent lumps.
  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup until thoroughly combined.
  8. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream and dried parsley, allowing it to heat through without boiling.
  9. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions for about 8-10 minutes.
  10. Drain the egg noodles and add them to the skillet with the beef stroganoff. Gently toss until all noodles are coated in the creamy sauce.
  11. Taste the stroganoff and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
