Description
Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie is a delicious dessert that combines the rich flavors of maple syrup and bourbon with crunchy pecans.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
- 3 to 4 tablespoons ice water
- 1 cup maple syrup
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker filling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Pie Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture forms a ball. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit your pie pan. Place the crust in the pan and crimp the edges. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing the filling.
- Mix the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the maple syrup, brown sugar, eggs, bourbon, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. If you prefer a thicker filling, add cornstarch and mix thoroughly.
- Add Pecans: Stir in the pecan halves until evenly distributed.
- Fill the Crust: Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, ensuring the pecans are evenly spread.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. You may need to cover the edges with foil to prevent over-browning.
- Cool: Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours to allow it to set completely.
Notes
- Serve with whipped cream if desired.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
