An easy Mississippi pot roast recipe made in the Instant Pot. This slow cooker Mississippi pot roast delivers tender, fall-apart meat with minimal effort, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients

- 1 (3-4 lb) chuck roast
- 1 package dry onion soup mix
- 1 package dry brown gravy mix
- 1 package dry ranch dressing mix
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Place the chuck roast in the Instant Pot.
- In a small bowl, mix together the onion soup mix, brown gravy mix, and ranch dressing mix.
- Sprinkle the dry seasoning mix evenly over the chuck roast.
- Place the butter on top of the seasoning mix.
- Pour the water into the bottom of the Instant Pot.
- Secure the lid and set the valve to sealing.
- Cook on high pressure for 90 minutes.
- Allow for a natural pressure release for 15 minutes, then perform a quick release for any remaining pressure.
- Remove the pot roast from the Instant Pot and shred or slice.
- Serve the Mississippi pot roast with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For a richer gravy, you can thicken the liquid in the Instant Pot after removing the meat.
- This Mississippi pot roast can also be made in a slow cooker.
- Adjust cooking time based on the size of your chuck roast.
