Description

An easy Mississippi pot roast recipe made in the Instant Pot. This slow cooker Mississippi pot roast delivers tender, fall-apart meat with minimal effort, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 (3-4 lb) chuck roast
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 1 package dry brown gravy mix
  • 1 package dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Place the chuck roast in the Instant Pot.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the onion soup mix, brown gravy mix, and ranch dressing mix.
  3. Sprinkle the dry seasoning mix evenly over the chuck roast.
  4. Place the butter on top of the seasoning mix.
  5. Pour the water into the bottom of the Instant Pot.
  6. Secure the lid and set the valve to sealing.
  7. Cook on high pressure for 90 minutes.
  8. Allow for a natural pressure release for 15 minutes, then perform a quick release for any remaining pressure.
  9. Remove the pot roast from the Instant Pot and shred or slice.
  10. Serve the Mississippi pot roast with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For a richer gravy, you can thicken the liquid in the Instant Pot after removing the meat.
