Ingredients
- 12 oz fresh cranberries (about 3 cups)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (toasted)
- Zest of 1 medium orange
- 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Rinse fresh cranberries under cold water and remove any bad berries.
- In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low. Add orange zest and cinnamon stick. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until cranberries burst.
- Stir in toasted walnuts during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Remove from heat. Cool slightly before transferring to a serving bowl. Discard the cinnamon stick.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
