- 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Lay saltine crackers in a single layer, close together on the baking sheet.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, add brown sugar, and stir constantly for 3–4 minutes until bubbly and thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Quickly pour the toffee over the crackers and spread evenly.
- Bake for 5–7 minutes until the toffee is bubbling and golden.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips, let soften 2–3 minutes, then spread into a smooth layer.
- Sprinkle lightly with sea salt.
- Cool for 30 minutes, then refrigerate 1–2 hours until set.
- Break into pieces or slice into squares and enjoy.
