Ingredients

- 2 cups Water
- 4 sticks Cinnamon (or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon)
- 4 pieces Vanilla beans (split and scraped, or 4 teaspoons vanilla extract)
- 2 pieces Star anise (optional)
- 4 teaspoons Loose-leaf black tea (or 4 black tea bags)
- 2 cups Milk
- Honey or sweetener (to taste)
Instructions
- Boil the water in a small pot until it bubbles vigorously.
- Combine cinnamon and vanilla; add to boiling water, then turn off heat and cover. Add star anise now if using.
- Steep the mixture for about 10 minutes.
- Brew black tea by adding loose-leaf tea or tea bags, steep for an additional 3-5 minutes.
- Warm the milk in a separate pot until it’s warm but not boiling.
- Strain the cinnamon vanilla infusion through a fine mesh sieve into the warm milk.
- Sweeten with honey or the preferred sweetener, stirring gently.
- Serve hot or let cool for an iced treat; top with a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
